From our Perth base we deliver landscaping perth across Perth, Scone, Bridge of Earn, Methven, Stanley, Luncarty, Bankfoot, Auchterarder, Crieff and Blairgowrie — plus the wider Perth & Kinross area. Typical travel time from our Talisker Place office is under 30 minutes, so site visits and snagging are quick to arrange.
Marshall & Co provides full landscaping services across Perth, Dundee and the wider Perthshire region. As an established building firm we approach landscaping the way we approach a house renovation — properly designed, properly engineered and properly project-managed. The result is a garden that looks beautiful and still looks beautiful in 10 years.
Our landscaping covers the full hard-landscaping spectrum: patios, paths, retaining walls, raised beds, garden steps, decking, fencing, screening, garden lighting, drainage and outdoor electrics. We also coordinate the soft elements — turfing, planting and irrigation — through trusted local horticultural partners.
Whether you need a single new patio with steps and lighting, a complete back-garden transformation, or a full landscape package combining a garden room, decking, planting and a remodelled patio area, we manage the whole project from initial design through to final handover.
This service forms part of our wider work as an experienced home builder in Perth, giving homeowners a single trusted team for every stage of their project.

Landscaping in Perthshire isn't the same as landscaping in Surrey. Our climate is wetter, our frosts are harder, our summers are shorter and our soils are often heavier. Patios that work fine in the south of England fail within five winters here if they're laid wrong — frost lifts cheaply bedded paving, freeze-thaw cycles crack porous stone and poor drainage turns lawns into bogs.
As a local Perth landscaper we design and build for the Scottish climate by default. Patios are laid on full mortar beds (never spot-bedded), with proper falls away from the house and drainage channels where needed. Retaining walls have weep holes and properly compacted granular backfill. Decking is built on engineered substructures with full underside ventilation. Steps have non-slip finishes that stay safe when wet.
We also work closely with the natural character of Perthshire gardens — stone walls, mature trees, sloping plots and the long views many gardens enjoy. Good landscaping enhances what's already there rather than fighting it.
Hard landscaping is the structural element of the garden: paving, walls, steps, decking, fencing, lighting and drainage. It's the architecture of the outdoor space and accounts for 60–80% of a typical landscape budget. Get hard landscaping right and the garden has good bones for decades.
Soft landscaping is the planting: turf, hedges, trees, beds, borders and specimen plants. It softens the hard structure, brings colour and life, and develops over the years. Most gardens need both — pure hard landscaping feels sterile, pure soft planting can feel unstructured.
We project-manage the hard landscaping in-house and coordinate soft landscaping through trusted local horticultural partners. That gives you one point of contact for the whole project but specialist expertise on the planting side.
Landscaping costs in Perth vary enormously by scope. Indian sandstone patios cost £150–£220/m² installed. Porcelain patios cost £200–£280/m². Hardwood decking costs £180–£260/m². Composite decking costs £200–£300/m². Stone retaining walls cost £400–£800 per linear metre depending on height. Close-board fencing costs £80–£140 per linear metre installed. Turf laying costs £15–£25/m².
A small back-garden refresh — say new patio (20m²), small fence run (15m) and turf relay (50m²) — typically costs £6,000–£11,000. A full back-garden landscape with patio, decking, retaining wall, lighting, fencing and planting typically costs £18,000–£40,000+. Larger gardens with garden rooms, hot tub recesses and pergolas can run to £60k–£100k+.
All quotations are fixed-price after a site visit. There are no surprise extras for muck-away, hardcore or drainage work — everything is included in the headline price.
Most landscapers in Perth are landscapers — they don't do houses. Most builders don't do landscaping. We do both, which means we can integrate landscaping with related building work seamlessly: a new patio that ties in to a new extension, decking that wraps around a garden room, retaining walls that solve drainage problems caused by a new conservatory, or outdoor electrics installed at the same time as a kitchen refit.
We're also genuinely structured. Limited company, full insurance, written contracts, weekly progress updates, fixed-price quotations and a 12-month workmanship guarantee. Our portfolio of completed Perthshire gardens speaks for itself — and our 5-star Google rating reflects the experience clients have working with us.
