From our Perth base we deliver kitchen cabinet refinishing perth across Perth, Scone, Bridge of Earn, Methven, Stanley, Luncarty, Bankfoot, Auchterarder, Crieff and Blairgowrie — plus the wider Perth & Kinross area. Typical travel time from our Talisker Place office is under 30 minutes, so site visits and snagging are quick to arrange.
Marshall & Co provides specialist kitchen cabinet refinishing across Perth, Dundee and the wider Perthshire region. If your kitchen is structurally sound but the cabinets look tired, dated or damaged, refinishing is a fraction of the cost of replacing the whole kitchen — typically 25–40% of a full refit — and the result can be transformative.
Cabinet refinishing covers a spectrum of work. At the simplest end it's a professional spray-paint of the existing doors and frames in a new colour and finish. At the more involved end it includes new doors, new handles, new worktops, new sinks and taps — keeping the existing carcasses and base infrastructure but replacing every visible surface.
We'll honestly advise which approach makes sense for your kitchen at a free site visit. If the carcasses are in good condition, refinishing is excellent value. If the carcasses are damaged or the layout is wrong, full replacement usually makes more sense.

What's Included
Professional 2-pack spray-paint of existing doors and frames in any colour with a hard-wearing factory-quality finish.
Replacement doors and drawer fronts in painted MDF, oak veneer, walnut, Shaker, slab or glass-fronted styles.
Replacement handles, knobs, edge pulls and handleless conversions to update the kitchen's look.
Replace existing laminate or wood worktops with granite, quartz or solid timber while keeping the existing units.
Replace existing sink and taps with undermount, Belfast or instant boiling water options.
Replace tiled splashbacks with glass, stone or modern porcelain to complement the refinished cabinets.
Cabinet refinishing makes sense when the existing kitchen is structurally sound but visually dated. The classic example is a 10–15 year old shaker kitchen in a colour you no longer love. The carcasses are perfect, the doors are sound timber, the layout works — but the white-with-oak-trim look has dated badly. A spray refinish in a contemporary deep blue or sage green, with new brushed brass handles, will make the kitchen look genuinely brand-new for around 25% of the cost of a full replacement.
Refinishing also works well for higher-quality dated kitchens — solid oak doors that have lost their lustre, painted kitchens that have yellowed or chipped, melamine doors that are sound but the wrong colour. Each of these can be brought back to like-new for a fraction of replacement cost.
Refinishing doesn't work for damaged or warped doors, for cheap MDF kitchens where the carcasses are softening from moisture, for kitchens with a layout that no longer works for you, or for kitchens with worktops you also want to replace and where the worktop replacement requires removing the doors anyway.
We'll tell you honestly at the free site visit which category your kitchen falls into.
There's a huge quality difference between professional spray refinishing in a workshop and on-site painting. Workshop spray refinishing produces a factory-quality finish — smooth, even, no brush marks, no roller texture, no dust contamination. On-site painting is dusty, takes much longer, and never matches the finish quality.
Our refinishing process is workshop-based. We carefully remove every door, drawer front and shelf, label them, transport them to our spray workshop, sand and prime, then spray with 2-pack polyurethane paint that cures hard and is genuinely durable. The doors come back ready to refit — typically within 7–10 working days.
We do everything else on site (frames, end panels, plinths) using the same 2-pack paint applied with masking, dust extraction and protection of surrounding surfaces. The final result is a kitchen that looks like a new factory installation.
Cabinet refinishing costs in Perth depend on the scope. As a guide: spray refinishing the doors, drawer fronts and frames of a typical 12-cabinet kitchen costs £2,500–£4,500; adding new replacement doors instead of refinishing the existing ones costs £3,500–£8,000; full "new face" treatment (new doors, new handles, new worktop, new sink/tap, new splashback) typically costs £8,000–£18,000 — versus £18,000–£35,000+ for a full kitchen replacement.
Lead time is typically 3–5 weeks from quotation to completion, with the kitchen out of action for around 7–10 working days during the workshop refinishing phase.
All quotes are fixed-price after a site visit and design consultation. There are no hidden extras for materials, handle changes or worktop modifications.
