From our Perth base we deliver fitted shelving & storage perth across Perth, Scone, Bridge of Earn, Methven, Stanley, Luncarty, Bankfoot, Auchterarder, Crieff and Blairgowrie — plus the wider Perth & Kinross area. Typical travel time from our Talisker Place office is under 30 minutes, so site visits and snagging are quick to arrange.
Marshall & Co designs and builds bespoke fitted shelving and storage across Perth, Dundee and the wider Perthshire region. From simple painted alcove shelving either side of a chimney breast to full-wall library units with integrated lighting, ladders and concealed storage, we deliver fitted storage that turns wasted space into the most useful part of a room.
Off-the-shelf bookcases never fit properly — they leave gaps to walls, don't reach the ceiling, and have shelf spacings designed for paperback books regardless of what you actually own. Fitted shelving is built to your space, to your contents and to your finish — and lasts decades rather than the few years before a flat-pack starts sagging.
Every unit is designed in-house and built by our own joiners using moisture-resistant MDF or solid timber. We can match existing skirting, mirror existing cornicing and tie new joinery into the rest of the room so it reads as part of the original property.

What's Included
Fitted shelving in alcoves either side of chimney breasts — open shelving, closed cupboards or combination units.
Floor-to-ceiling bookcase walls with adjustable shelving, integrated lighting and optional library ladders.
Bespoke media walls with cable management, ventilation and integrated TV/speaker housing.
Custom under-stairs storage with pull-out drawers, shoe storage, coat hanging and concealed compartments.
Fitted boot rooms with bench seating, shoe storage, coat hooks and cubby holes for family life.
Fitted desks, shelving and concealed storage for home offices and study nooks.
Free-standing bookcases are sized for boxes, not rooms. They leave gaps to walls, stop short of the ceiling, and have shelf spacings that don't match your contents. Fitted shelving uses every inch of the alcove, runs to the ceiling, and has shelf positions set to whatever you actually want to display.
Fitted shelving is also structurally stronger than flat-pack. We fix shelves into wall studs and side gables with proper joinery joints, not cam-locks and dowels. The result is shelving that holds full rows of hardbacks without sagging, supports the weight of family photo collections and ceramics indefinitely, and stays square even after decades of use.
Aesthetically, fitted shelving reads as part of the room rather than furniture parked against a wall. Skirting and cornicing wrap around the units, paint colour matches the walls or contrasts as a feature, and the overall effect is calmer and more architectural than free-standing storage can ever be.
Fitted shelving costs depend on size, materials and complexity. As a guide: a single alcove unit (1m wide, full ceiling height, painted MDF open shelving) costs £1,200–£1,800; a pair of matching alcove units either side of a chimney breast with closed cupboards below and open shelves above costs £2,800–£4,500; a full-wall library unit with adjustable shelving and integrated lighting costs £4,500–£12,000+.
Media walls with cable management and integrated TV housing run £2,800–£8,500 depending on size and complexity. Boot rooms and hallway storage typically run £2,500–£6,500.
All quotes are fixed-price after the in-home consultation. There are no hidden extras for fixings, filler or final touch-up paint.
